So glad I found your piece while looking for some Haysi lyrics that I still haven't found, but really enjoyed your story and hearing what Shiny Shiny has meant in your life.

I was on the edge of the Haysi social group in London in the 1980s and was always dancing to John Wayne is Big Leggy, which slipped by the censors (it was about indigenous peoples getting f**ked up the ar** by colonials). Only just discovered that fact while searching for the lyrics! Those sly Fantayzees!

Later in life I met Jeremy (Jeremiah) who was going out with an artist friend, and he is now a famous DJ. Nice guy.

I thought it a bonus ironic twist to your Haysi connection, that the third member of the band was called P Caplin and you're P Kaplan.
